My mother instilled the love of baths in me, and it’s one of the things I’m most grateful for. There’s nothing better than a bubble bath, with nice-smelling water, lots of candles and a good book. My favorite part is putting my dry hair under the water and feeling the heat of the water lap around my face.
I know all sorts of good, wonderful people that feel guilty when they take personal time, or even when their needs conflict with others. I think we’re on this earth not just to help others, but to take care of ourselves too. And taking care of ourselves can mean not carrying stress around 24/7.
I’ve known men that enjoy bubble baths too – it’s not just a female thing. I think that’s really cool actually. If only there could be a hot tub in every house! Maybe some of the world’s problems could be resolved with just a little more attention to taking time to relax.
The mani/pedi thing isn’t relaxing to me (ticklish and smelly!), but it is to others. Others need to exercise to relax – build up a sweat for a great shower afterwards. Whatever it is, the stress of the day can wait. Take a moment today to just relax – however it is best for you to do so.
Wishing you all a pleasant rest….
Rose
