The Life Passion Test

I’m half-way through The Passion Test by Janet Bray and Chris Attwood.  It seems similar to a really old book I  have re-read countless times by Frances Scovill Shinn – The Game of Life and How To Play It.

I’ve taken the test, and have gained more understanding of myself, specifically, that the words, doing, having and being are extremely hard ones for me to answer (and frankly, I don’t think I did!)!

Part of the test includes answering this question as many times as you can, “In my most ideal life, ______”  followed by a doing, having or being sentence.  I finally came up with my top 5, and I’m sharing them with you, my readers, because, maybe it’ll encourage you to pick up the book, and answer the question yourself!

  1. In my most ideal life, I am providing, nurturing, loving, caring for those I love
  2. In my most ideal life, I am doing artistic things
  3. In my most ideal life, I have lots of time to be with my boyfriend
  4. In my most ideal life, I have all I need, and have enough to give to many
  5. In my most ideal life, I am being paid to speak and travel

Reading my list, and looking at my top 5 priorities at this stage in my life, I’ve learned some things about myself.  First, that relationships are important to me.  Half of the items on my list involve other people.  Secondly, I’ve learned providing is important to me, and that means security and money.  I’ve also learned that being artistic is highly important to me (for me artistic includes writing), as well as being my own manager, and being paid to help others and travel.  I didn’t realize until this test how much I actually love to travel and always have.    It was a neat test for me, because I was able to see what, at this time, I am the most passionate about!

Passion is actually my favorite word, and has been for the last 20 years, so I was irresistibly drawn to this book.  Living and doing what your passionate about can be difficult, but if you’re in a spot where you’ve given up hope, like I had, don’t.  Your passion can be found in the strangest of places – your subconscious mind.

All best,

Rose

Wow! It sounds like you'e getting a lot of useful pointers from that book Rose. I'd buy it, based on your recommendation. *looks around for purchase link* (hint)

Seriously though, it did help to see your top five priorities in that format, because they are all achieveable, and that makes me consider my own, and the possibility that I might actually accomplish something with my life, if I set myself a series of directions. Thank you, as always :)
