Everyone knows you can’t trust everyone, but there is almost always someone in your family that you can trust. Now, I’m not using family as related by blood necessarily, although they can be, but as something more special than that – the people you choose as family. The ones where you say, this friend and I are more like sisters than friends, or this man is more like a husband than a boyfriend. You know the kinds of people I’m talking about, the ones you trust with your life, your emotions, and even your soul’s well-being, because you know they will not ever hurt you on purpose.
I’ve been given a large gift this year – a gift of a whole family of caring people. They have been so supportive of me when I’ve needed it, and I have. There are some moments where I am just so grateful for the wonderful, lovable people in my life.
Sometimes life throws things at you so fast that it’s tough to stay on your feet. The best thing is knowing that you’re not all alone. Because you’re not. Even complete strangers, even people you’ll never see again, can become a family member even for a short time. Today, I wish that for all of you.
