The Knot Prayer

I was just sent this through email – and absolutely love it. I don’t know its source, so I can’t quote it.  I think it can be appreciated by many – including  those who don’t believe in a higher power at all. In a way, it’s why I started this blog – so no one would ever have to feel they suffer alone.

Anyway, I thought it was lovely, and I hope you do too.

    The Knots Prayer

    Dear God,
    please untie the knots
    that are in my mind,
    my heart and my life.
    Remove the have nots,
    the can nots and the do nots
    that I have in my mind.

    Erase the will nots,
    may nots, and
    might nots that find
    a home in my heart.

    Release me from the could nots,
    would nots and
    should nots that obstruct my life.

    And most of all, dear God,
    I ask that you remove from my mind
    my heart and my life all of the am nots
    that I have allowed to hold me back,
    especially the thought
    that I am not good enough.

    thank you so much as i feel this prayer applies to me i have been searching for a prayer that will help me love myself, which i find impossible as it seems i grew up this way all my life will send out your site to my friends thanks phyl
